Chase had a pretty decent day today. He was swallowing better, his lungs sound pretty good and the therapy he had went well. He wished me a Happy Valentine's Day when he found out it was today. It was my turn for the hug when he had physical therapy. I loved that!
He was pretty "with it" today for the most part, but is still easily confused and sometimes doesn't make much sense. He's been calling me "Mommy" quite a bit too. I keep hearing all of this is normal but it doesn't make it easier to see him this way. I miss my Chase. I can't wait to have him back. I am very grateful that he's here though and thank the Lord every day for sparing him.
He will be evaluated by the Physical therapy team on Monday and then they'll let us know when he will be moving to the 12th floor (Rehabilitation Center). We're thinking it will be on Tuesday, but don't know for sure yet. At that point he'll be in his permanent place there until it's time to go home.
Well, that's it for today. Another day down and closer to recovery.
Love,
Michelle
I just bumped into this blog right now. I felt sad when I read what had happened to Chase. I will pray for Chase and your family that he will be better for every day that goes by. / A girl from Sweden
ReplyDeleteOur family is tracking the progress and praying for strength for you and for everyone else involved in the recovery. Please, if you think about it, let us know how Justin and Breanna are doing too. They have got to be affected too.

Oh Michelle, looking at this picture of you holding your son brings both sadness and joy to my heart. Sadness that Chase has to endure this unfair pain, sadness that you and your family have to endure this heart-wrenching experience and sadness to see you so exhausted. It brings me joy see just how far Chase has come from that tragic moment, joy that all the prayers for Chase, you and your family have moved God to Bless Chase and put him well on the road to recovery and joy that you have the pleasure of hugging and comforting your son as he is slowly and completely returned to you. I will continue to pray for Chase, you and your family. May God give you His Peace.
