I went back to work today. I am working from about 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM or so until Chase comes home from the hospital. Then I'll probably take some time off to stay home with him as he'll need 24 hour care for awhile. I was happy to get up to the hospital to see Chase when I got off work. I missed him so much! I missed the morning rehab and the first afternoon (Physical therapy) session. I was kind of bummed about that but I did get to be there for the 3:30 Occupational therapy. Jeff and Vince were there for the rest of the stuff and said he did very well. They wore him out so hopefully he'll sleep well tonight. During the Occupational therapy they had him do different types of puzzles, which made him really have to think. He did pretty well with that. He got to wear a t-shirt and pajama pants today so he's not in a hospital gown anymore. That's better too. The therapy team said they would make his physical therapy a little later so that I could be there for it. That made me happy. :) He's eating better and fed himself today. I think they'll be able to leave the IV out since he's drinking fluids (even though they're thick).
It was so nice to see Chase a little more like his normal self today. It did my heart good! I have missed him. He loves to have his feet and hands massaged so we get to do that a lot. We like it though. He's supposed to get a massage tomorrow in addition to the rehab stuff. He'll love it!
Our Bishop and Mike Hansen came by and gave Chase a blessing tonight. It was wonderful! Chase liked seeing them. I think they were glad to see him too.
Well, I'm tired so it's time to end for today. I look forward to tomorrow and seeing how he progresses. We have been given a miracle in our boy, Chase. He is proof that they exist and that prayers work. Thanks to all of you out there praying for him. I am so grateful to you all!
Love,
Michelle
